As part of their 2017 California Concert Tour, Seattle’s Northwest Boychoir will be performing at First Pres Sunday, July 9 at 7:00pm. The concert is free—but a free-will offering will be taken to benefit Hotel de Zink, the moveable night shelter for Palo Alto which First Pres is hosting for the month of July. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear a Grammy-nominated boys choir perform live in our Sanctuary, and to support Hotel de Zink!
Under the direction of Joseph Crnko, the Northwest Boychoir is one of the premier children’s choirs in the nation, with an organization that has more than 200 members. The 32-members of the touring Northwest Boychoir range in age from 10 to 14, and perform regularly with the Seattle Symphony, on movie and video game soundtracks, in professional recording studios, and as part of their own year-round schedule of concerts. Every boy with the musical talent and drive to succeed is accepted into the program, regardless of financial background.
This tour marks the Northwest Boychoir’s 25th national or international tour in 43 years. Prior tours have taken the choir to Great Britain, Eastern Europe, Washington, D.C., Australia, Canada, throughout the United States, as well as Japan and Mexico.
“Our boys are ambassadors for Seattle and the Pacific Northwest,” says Crnko. “Wherever they travel, they unite audiences through the power of outstanding choral music while being immersed in the rich and diverse cultures of the places they visit. ”
