Food Closet

Each week we ask one of our Deacon Neighborhoods to bring food to Sunday Service for the Downtown Food Closet, a program of the Urban Ministries of Palo Alto.  Our response is always plenty of bounty

Excerpted from the Urban Ministries web site...

"The Downtown Food Closet is a volunteer-run emergency food program that provides groceries to homeless and very low income people. The Food Closet receives food donations from restaurants, stores, and individual families and through canned food drives by churches and community groups. All funds given to the Food Closet go directly to purchase bulk food items for distribution.

If you want to help, the Downtown Food Closet needs food and volunteers. Bring your food donations to the Food Closet at All Saints Church, 555 Waverly, between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm on weekdays. If you're interested in volunteering, contact Tom Pirkle (415) 324-5359 or the Urban Ministry office."
