November 14, 1932 - June 19,
2000
The memorial service will be September 9th at 11:00am in the sanctuary
"Listen now for the word of God," Peter
would say
and there would be silence in our sanctuary
Today, the silence breaks our hearts
There will never be a voice, quite like Peter's
There will never be a faith, quite like Peter's
There will never be a friend, quite like Peter
There will never be a husband, quite like Peter
Peter was a unique and special soul
Whom we were all blessed to know
There was never any doubt where Peter stood
There was never any doubt how Peter felt
There was never any doubt how much Peter loved us
There was never any doubt how much Peter loved God
The birds, squirrels, and little babies were his joy
His wife Julie, was his rock and his best friend
First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto was his spiritual home
The homeless and the mentally ill were his passions
God must have finally been ready to sit down with Peter
And answer all the questions Peter has been preparing
God's got a lot of explaining to do and while they talk
Jesus will take away Peter's cane, no more struggle, no more pain
"Listen now for the word of God"
and Remember the voice that carried that word so wonderfully
We love you Peter and we'll miss you
