Sunday School and Child Care

Our long-time nursery care workers Robin Yurash and Joan Rosenbaum offer nursery care during our education programs, as well as during the main worship service.

Optional Childcare (Ages 4 and up)
The Learning Center Playground and Classroom 2
Children are encouraged to attend the main worship service with their families.  Supervised play-time is available following the Time for the Child in Us All. 

NOTE that after May 23rd, Sunday school will take a summer break and will resume in mid-September. Nursery and optional childcare will continue to be available.

Godly Play for children in Preschool through Early Elementary School
9:30-10:15, in Classroom 1
Godly Play is an imaginative approach that nourishes and guides our children's spiritual quests. We enter into parables, sacred stories and liturgical actions in order to discover God, ourselves and the world around us. Taught by trained Montessori and early elementary teacher Heather Titterton and her faithful sidekick Pat!

Worship Workshop: An Intergenerational Look at Worship Practices
with Marissa Myers in classroom 3, 9:30 - 10:15am
Adults, youth and youngsters will join in this study. Our ministry to children and youth focuses on worship and intergenerational connections; therefore worship education in an intergenerational context is the focus of church school in 2009-10. We are creating our own worship education curriculum, instead of using a canned curriculum. Our learning objectives are:
--to foster intergenerational relationships
--to make worship real in the lives of children; to engage kids in worship (design, participate, lead)
--to help children understand what it is that we are doing in worship and why we do it
