We are now in the Advent season, my first with you all and we are going to address some of the more difficult areas of life today: A Word of Hope in a World of Hurt. We will address four topics over our four weeks: Hope & Asylum Seeking, Peace & Gun Violence, Joy & Poverty, Love and Gender Fluidity. Please take time to carve out this month to be with us as we prepare for the birth of the Christ Child.
On this Second Sunday of Advent in Adult Study and Worship, we will tackle gun violence, the impact it has on the world, and what we may do in response. Using Isaiah 2:1-5 and Luke 22: 47-53 we will explore the complexity, pain, and impact of gun violence.
You can see the map of the entire series here.
We will also hear from one of our young people and her experience around love, violence, and hope. Our special offering this Sunday will go to the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, a denominational partner of FPCPA that works on issues of peace, climate change, gun violence, and more.
Please be sure to share our Facebook Event and invite away!
