Join us at Nealon Park, 800 Middle Avenue in Menlo Park at the annual Church World Service CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 7! This year’s local recipient of 25% of the funds raised is an organization well-known to the First Pres community: Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto. The remainder of the funds support various CWS hunger programs.
Registration begins at 1:00pm and the walk starts at 2:00pm. There will be food and T-shirts available between 1 and 2 pm. You can choose to walk .6 mile, 2 miles, or 5 miles.
Note that this year there will not be a 5th Sunday Event in September, so that we can concentrate on this “6th Sunday” event, so seriously consider joining the team this year. It’s a very pleasant way to spend a part of a Sunday afternoon, walking through some shaded neighborhoods of Menlo Park and having time to get to know fellow walkers.

AND… for another way to support this year’s walk:
On Wed, Sept 5, there will be a Dine-in at Mountain Mike’s, on Middlefield Rd at Charleston in Palo Alto, where 30% of the cost of your meal will be donated to the Crop Walk. You can dine in or take out from 11am-9pm. Mention the Crop Walk when you place your order. Please register at https://www.groupraise.com/events/65806.
