The First Pres Younger Adults are a group of college/graduate students and young professionals in our twenties and thirties who like to get together for study, discussion, service, and fun. We are an open group and love to welcome new members!
We vary what we do when we are together. We have met at church to decorate for Halloween, at the Manse to bake Christmas cookies, or at a member’s home for a meal and a Bible Study. We have also gone on “God in the Bay” outings, in which we intentionally explored God’s presence in the Bay Area through trips to various sites and institutions, and we occasionally meet with other Young Adults in the San Jose Presbytery.
We are currently using a curriculum from Just Faith Ministry called “Exploring Migration: a Faith Journey.” It focuses on immigration through readings and videos that document human experiences of migration and prompt discussions about how we should respond. This series will also include discussions with our First Pres friends who have travelled to the Arizona-Mexico border, a few service projects with the Day Worker Center and with P.A.C.T., and plenty of community building over dinner.
